2012

SEDONA, Ariz. - December 31, 2007 - Amara Resort Hotel & Spa in Uptown Sedona has been newly recognized by Conde Nast Traveler magazine as one of the "World's Best Places to Stay" on the magazine's exclusive Gold List for 2008, widely recognized as the world's top travel accolade.

The Gold List profiles 168 properties around the world, chosen for their service, rooms, food, ambience and design, location and leisure facilities. The two other Sedona properties on the Gold List are Enchantment Resort and L'Auberge de Sedona. Amara scored higher than both properties on customer service and location rankings.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this very exclusive list - like the 'Academy Awards' for the hospitality industry," said general manager Michael Rock. "We've worked hard to put our guest satisfaction at the core of everything we do, and we've also added new amenities - such as Creekside yoga and spa parties, as well as an entirely new Food & Beverage team which features world-class Executive Chef Ivan Flowers. This is an incredible honor that our owners and staff take with great pride."

There are only 10 Arizona properties on the Gold List including the three in Sedona. The others are Royal Palms Resort and Spa and Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North, Boulders Resort & Golden Door Spa in Carefree, and Arizona Inn and Lowes Ventana Canyon Resort, both in Tucson.
