Country, Destination and Wine spa experiences top list of popular spa searches
(LosAngeles, California) —The spa travel website Spas ofAmerica today announced its annual ranking of theTop 100 Spas of the past year, based on consumer behavior on its popular website.
“Spas offering escape, rejuvenation and wellness in beautiful outdoor settings continue to prove popular with spa consumers,” says Spas ofAmerica president Craig Oliver. “Only three spas in our top 30 were City spa experiences, while consumers were drawn to discover Destination, Country, Wine, Beach and Ocean experiences.”
Topping the list for 2011 is the Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge in Ivins, Utah. Set amid the stunning red rocks of southwestern Utah, the Biggest Loser Resort is a “destination spa,” offering an affordable, comprehensive health and fitness experience focusing on exercise, nutrition and education.
Second place, and the most popular Canadian spa, is the 100 Fountain Spa at the Pillar and Post, set in the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Virginia’sThe Homestead placed third on the list of top 100 spas. Set in the scenicAllegheny Mountains and built in 1892, the Homestead Spa is one ofAmerica’s most historic luxury spas, still fed by the original hot springs that have attracted travelers since the 1700s.
Fourth place and the most popular Beach spa experience went to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel,Abhasa Spa. Situated on 10 acres of prime Waikiki beachfront on the south shore of Oahu Island, the Royal Hawaiian
is a popular beach spa escape.
Fifth place for 2011, and the most popular spa in the Midwest, is Wisconsin'sAspira Spa atThe Osthoff Resort. Nestled on the shores of a lake considered sacred by NativeAmericans,Aspira Spa offers a holistic treatment philosophy that promises balance, peace and harmony.
